Tsunami Student Conference 2011
December 28-30
Santa Clara Convention Center
5001 Great America Parkway
Santa Clara , CA

Imagine standing in the middle of a cafeteria. You notice the variety of great foods that you have to choose from. You have options. You can stay in the shallow end and go for the more familiar or dive into the deep and try something new. Either way, the cafeteria is there to cater to your whim and it's your choice.

Unfortunately, this generation tends to have a “cafeteria-like” relationship with Jesus. We pick and choose what we believe will satisfy our spiritual palate; and if we're not careful, we may end up catering to our own religion and completely miss out on a relationship with Jesus.

Here’s the truth: following Jesus comes at a price, a heavy price at that. According to Luke 9:23, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”  Jesus does not call us to have a “cafeteria-like” relationship, but instead He’s calling us to die daily to our comforts, our needs, and our desires, because He is worth it! He’s calling us to be selfLESS.

No matter where you or your students are spiritually right now, God is calling us all to a deeper relationship. He's calling us away from the shallow end, to dive into the deep end with Him. At Tsunami 2011 your students will learn how to quit being “cafeteria-Christians.” They will be encouraged to pursue Christ more deeply. They will learn what it means to be LESS concerned with self, in other words, to have LESS “self” so that they can have MORE of Him. That’s SelfLESS!
